The YMCA Swim Team is based on the YMCA Principles of competitive swimming and character values. We believe that everybody swims and everybody wins. Our Coaching staff is dedicated to emphasizing values through individual development in swimming skills, sportsmanship, leadership and team spirit.
Children should be able to swim at least one length of our pool (25 yards) on both the stomach and also on their back before registering for any of our Swim Team programs. Please feel free to contact our Aquatic Director, Ken Brewster or Competitive Coordinator, Diana Dempsey to arrange for an evaluation of your child’s swimming ability if unsure of their readiness for our competitive swimming programs.
We normally conduct the following competitive programs each year:
- Fall Swim Clinics (normally in September)
- Fall/Winter Swim Team (normally begins in October each year)
- Spring Clinics (normally in March and/or April each year)
- Spring/Summer Swim Team (normally begins the first week in May)
